It is already 38 years since in the 17th of June one of our great poets Paruyr Sevak left us forever. But his death was physically, as his poetry lives in the soul of each Armenian, and Memory stays in everybody's heart. We can say this surely as every year many people, who love Sevak, visit his native country Chanakhchi, and put flowers in his memorial in the place where the car accident happened, then in his garden where a tomb is.

It is already 10 years since the citizens of Abovyan, who are fond of Sevak, to owing to Garush Hakobyan, have a chance to visit Zangakatun, put flowers in his tomb and visits his home-museum.

The May 23^rd, a sunny spring day, the bell rang more aloud as usual at all the schools of the Armenian highlands.

It was completely different and everything was like a dream of childhood. The graduators, teachers and parents were excited.

At the day of the “Final bell” in all the schools of Abovyan city was a total bustle either. Everywhere were the evident reciprocal congratulations and simultaneous tears of the happiness and sadness, crazy memories of the school life, there were dances, songs and congratulation speeches towards the teacher.

The history of the mankind is filled with wars and calamities, which make a trace to each nation’s biography, mentality and national identity. This is more valuable when one enjoys the joyfulness of the victory.

For the Armenian people 9th of May is double victory: first its courageous child’s participation and victory in the Paternal great war and also the liberation of Shushi, Artsakh war, which are underlining and making more important the holiday of 9th of May.

As every year, this year also in Abovyan city honored march was organized to the remembrance monument for eternalizing the victims of the Paternal Great War, followed by the attendance to the monument devoted to the once scarified in the heroic battle of Shushi.  March of the respect was finished in Elar at the monument of Paternal Great War, the flowers and wreaths were put for commemorating the victims.

In 70s the Abovyan city had reached to its sport climax especially in the sphere of football. Manifold football competitions were still taking place in the present place of Kotayk stadium where different town amateur teams were coming out. 

The construction of the stadium opened a new page in sport life;
the well known Darani and Kotayk football teams were characterizing as the symbols of the Abovyan city. Each game-performance of Kotayk team made a special holiday for the citizens of the Abovyan city in the USSR period.

The team had become a best smithy also for Ararat. It had professional personnel and presented famous figures which had attached to the local sports. 

At the process of the time the generation has changed and moreover state crisis and very other natural and non natural conditions come out, so people moved to abroad. Now we are in the United States, in Glendale city with the trails of Kotayk and former football players. In the Wilson’s school field is going on a Sunday game basically are participating the former professional football players like as Jirair Saroukhanyan, Zarik Yessayan, Vahik Esayan, Mkrtich, Albert Khanlaryan, Raffik Madatyan,  over again Abovyan citizen Razmik and Edik, compatriots HOvnan , Vachik , Arsen , Petros and the others, full of young vigor, are at the game.

Easter is marked  to be the  series of movable holidays of the Armenian Christian church which is celebrated from the march 22 up to 25 April, after the full moon - the first Sunday  which  is preceding by the Forty –days Lent, during these period the believers abdicate the animal food and  harmful customs as a way of confessing their crimes . This year Easter is celebrated on the 12th of April. In Easter Eve, as a tradition, the table is full of delicacies, fish, red painted eggs and red wine, which symbolize Christ's blood for the rescue of the world. The churches including Abovyan's St. Stepanos church gave a special Mass devoted to the Christ’s resurrection.

 The Easter was transformed to full holiday for the inhabitants of the Abovyan “Narek” nursing home. First the pedagogical collective of the Abovyan 4th school with the supremacy headmaster Norayr Qeshishyan visited them in the morning bringing with them clothes and food-stuffs as a present and the second half of the day the nursing home received guests from Yerevan with the leadership of Liana Babayan, an author of the ”Khjankar” TV programme, who brings a joy and happiness in her constant visits to the nursing home. After having congratulated the grandmothers and grandfathers for this holiday the guests put at their disposal sweets and Liana Babayan presented them handmade souvenirs done by herself.

The Abovyan's alumni of pop and jazz art with the leadership of composer and singer Mamikon Badalyan, appeared on the cover of Temple’, first edition, illustrating literary, educational-cultural institutions which came out in 2009.

 In the region of Kotayk the school-studio is the only educational institution in this gender which has begun its activities since 1998 in the frame of the Abovyan intellectual union and since 2001 it has become self-dependent cultural organization.

Now in this school-studio’s departments; pop, popular singing, tool-making, cloth and art modeling study more than 150 alumnus.

During 10 years activities the alumnus of this school- studio have participated in different savory and republican events representing their concert programme both in Abovyan and outside if it like as Yerevan , Artsakh, Djavakhq.

They have recorded 5 CDs, video clips, organized different kind of competitions. 35 graduates have got musical higher education and now as specialists run in this sphere. Due to the interview of Mamikon Badalyan attached in ‘’Tampel’’; ‘’The importance of this work is to discover children with musical abilities.
