Easter is marked to be the series of movable holidays of the Armenian Christian church which is celebrated from the march 22 up to 25 April, after the full moon - the first Sundaywhich is preceding by the Forty –days Lent, during these period the believers abdicate the animal food and harmful customs as a way of confessing their crimes . This year Easter is celebrated on the 12th of April. In Easter Eve, as a tradition, the table is full of delicacies, fish, red painted eggs and red wine, which symbolize Christ's blood for the rescue of the world. The churches including Abovyan's St. Stepanos church gave a special Mass devoted to the Christ’s resurrection.
The Easter was transformed to full holiday for the inhabitants of the Abovyan “Narek” nursing home. First the pedagogical collective of the Abovyan 4th school with the supremacy headmaster Norayr Qeshishyan visited them in the morning bringing with them clothes and food-stuffs as a present and the second half of the day the nursing home received guests from Yerevan with the leadership of Liana Babayan, an author of the ”Khjankar” TV programme, who brings a joy and happiness in her constant visits to the nursing home. After having congratulated the grandmothers and grandfathers for this holiday the guests put at their disposal sweets and Liana Babayan presented them handmade souvenirs done by herself.
The Abovyan's alumni of pop and jazz art with the leadership of composer and singer Mamikon Badalyan, appeared on the cover of Temple’, first edition, illustrating literary, educational-cultural institutions which came out in 2009.
In the region of Kotayk the school-studio is the only educational institution in this gender which has begun its activities since 1998 in the frame of the Abovyan intellectual union and since 2001 it has become self-dependent cultural organization.
Now in this school-studio’s departments; pop, popular singing, tool-making, cloth and art modeling study more than 150 alumnus.
During 10 years activities the alumnus of this school- studio have participated in different savory and republican events representing their concert programme both in Abovyan and outside if it like as Yerevan , Artsakh, Djavakhq.
They have recorded 5 CDs, video clips, organized different kind of competitions. 35 graduates have got musical higher education and now as specialists run in this sphere. Due to the interview of Mamikon Badalyan attached in ‘’Tampel’’; ‘’The importance of this work is to discover children with musical abilities.
Since 1980, the Abovyan's sports school has been delivered as a sports school of the water forms, within 1997 years it has become complex juvenile including different type of sports and in 2005 it has thoroughly and capitally repaired and I may say, now it corresponds with the European criteria.
During its activity the sport school has given manifold medalists in Armenian and European championships. Now more than 700-800 alumni are trained there round in 10 kinds of sports (judo, unarmed, self-defense, wrestling, weight-event, boxing, gymnastics, swimming, basket-ball, karate ).
Goal of any educational institution is to bring up and educate the new accretive generation by sowing in them moral high qualities: kindergartens have serious investments into this work which are furthering to that quality formations still baby.
One of kindergartens of the Saralanj is the 2nd kindergarten of the conglomerate, which has committed since 1975 and has kept his existence up to 1989. It has had Armenian and Russian departments and it has been the one who planted trees and scrubbed wholly.
This year is the 1600 anniversary of the alphabet Mesrop i.e. the invention of Armenian scripts. And of course the headmaster of the school # 6 Greta Kroyan who is at the same time the teacher of Armenian language and literature can’t forget it.
For this great occasion on the 10th of November, in school # 6was held a matinee dedicated to the Armenian first teacher – Mesrop Mashtots. From the beginning of this event the guests got a single rose and card.Pupils of different age and grade participated in this event and they successfully put on the stage the history of the invention of Armenian scripts.

Hermann Gmeiner was born in 1919, on June the 23rd, Austria in the peasant’s family. In early age he had lost his mother. After the Second World War, while exploring the medicine in InnsbruckUniversity he realized the hard condition of many orphaned and homeless children and was convinced that in order to support these children they should be received real family warmth. In 1949 he founded the first “SOS-Kid’s village” in Imst. Later this idea took its way out of the Austria’s borders and today in 132 countries exists 350 “SOS- Kid’s village”.
“Abovyan urban polyclinic” was founded in 1965 and was called “Regional central hospital”. In 1996 was realized amendments and separate independent units were created. In 2000 polyclinic involved some village’s branches. The head physician of “Abovyan urban polyclinic” Mr. R. Hovhanissyan will answer to our questions.
-How is the doctor-patient relationship?
-If there used to be a period when the patient stir up because of the financial problems, spoiled relationship, now it’s in good state. Usually the patient is satisfied. They get normal treatment from the side of the doctor, everything is just great.
